Fine Art Commission

Commissioning Original Artwork

Each commission is a collaborative process, shaped by dialogue, material exploration, and careful attention to context. Commissions are accepted selectively and developed to align with both the collector’s intent and the artist’s practice.

1. Initial Enquiry

To begin a commission, please provide the following details:

  • Intended medium (sculpture / painting)

  • Approximate size or scale

  • Location or setting where the work will live

  • Budget range

  • Timeframe (if applicable)

  • Any reference works, artists, or themes you respond to

This information helps determine whether the commission is a suitable fit.

2. Concept Development

Following the initial discussion, a concept proposal is developed. This may include:

  • written concept notes

  • material references

  • sketches or visual studies

  • scale considerations

The proposal ensures clarity of direction before work begins.

3. Pricing & Agreement

Once the concept and scope are agreed, a fixed commission price is confirmed.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure the commission and begin production.

The remaining balance is payable upon completion, prior to delivery or installation.

4. Production Process

During production, progress updates may be shared at key stages.
Due to the nature of fine art practice, minor variations may occur as part of the material and creative process.

5. Completion & Delivery

Upon completion:

  • Final images are shared for approval

  • The remaining balance is settled

  • Delivery, installation, or collection is arranged

Packaging and shipping are quoted separately unless otherwise agreed.

6. Rights & Authorship

All commissioned works remain the intellectual property of the artist.
The artist retains the right to photograph and document the work for portfolio, exhibition, and publication purposes.

7. Timeline

Typical commission timelines vary depending on scale and complexity.
Indicative lead times are discussed during the proposal stage.
